RESUMO Este artigo propõe discutir uma concepção social de linguagem em relação ao mundo contemporâneo, conceituando o protagonismo da linguagem e dos textos. A linguagem e os textos possuem uma força agenciadora, que atua por meio de agentes sociais. Textos protagonistas apresentam quatro características: o poder de produzir significados e evocar lembranças; a portabilidade no tempo, no espaço e no contexto; a durabilidade; e os efeitos causais, chamando atenção para determinados aspectos do mundo social e construindo identidades. Discute-se a relação entre linguagem e sociedade, examinando mudanças epistemológicas nos últimos cinquenta anos. A relação entre ideologias linguísticas e mudança discursiva é um pressuposto para a análise de dois textos que abordam a ocupação de escolas no país, em um macrocontexto de uma sociedade capitalista neoliberal.Resumo em Inglês:
ABSTRACT This paper proposes to discuss a social view of language in relation to the contemporary world, introducing the notion of protagonist language and text. Language and texts have an agentive force that acts through social agents. Protagonist texts present four characteristics: power to produce meanings and activate memories; portability in time, space and context; durability; and causal effects, drawing attention to aspects of the social world and constructing identities. We discuss the relation between language and society, examining epistemological changes over the last fifty years. The relation between language ideologies and discourse change is an assumption for the analysis of two texts about school occupation in Brazil, in a macro context of a neoliberal capitalist society.Resumo em Português:
RESUMO Este artigo tem por objetivo propor uma visão de linguística aplicada e de linguagem comprometidas como uma INdisciplinaridade radical. No desenvolvimento dessa proposta, convoca autores/as de diferentes áreas do conhecimento para refletir tanto sobre processos históricos de territorialização forjados no chamado período moderno quanto possibilidades de transgressão. O argumento central é que um pensamento de fronteira implica uma série de desafios, sobretudo “desacostumar” e “despraticar” normas familiares.Resumo em Inglês:
ABSTRACT This article puts forward a view of Applied Linguistics and language committed to radical INdisciplinarity. To achieve this goal it congregates authors from different fields to reflect both upon historical processes of territorialization forged in the so-called Modernity and possibilities of transgression. RESUMO Este artigo visa demonstrar que as prerrogativas das ciências sociais estão imbricadas nos estudos da linguagem no sentido de conceituar sujeito, ator, agente e protagonista. Apesar da tentativa de oferecer conceitos hegemônicos, eles se embaralham diluindo fronteiras de sentido entre si. Uma análise comparativa entre conceitos vinculados a alguns autores, tais como os sociológicos Touraine, Bourdieu e Crozier de um lado e, de outro, os estudiosos da linguagem Pêcheux, Fairclough, Austin, demonstra o entrelaçamento entre linguagem e social. Como exemplo analítico da constituição do sujeito, ator, agente e protagonista, utilizamos a cantora, compositora e poeta brasileira Karina Buhr.Resumo em Inglês:
ABSTRACT This article aims to demonstrate that the prerogatives of the Social Sciences are imbricated in Language Studies in the sense of conceptualizing the subject, actor, agent and protagonist. Despite the attempt to offer hegemonic concepts, these become shuffled by diluting boundaries of meaning among themselves. A comparative analysis between concepts linked to some authors, such as that from the sociologists Touraine, Bourdieu and Crozier on the one hand, and on the other, the language scholars Pêcheux, Fairclough, and Austin, demonstrates the interweaving between language and the social. As an analytical example of the constitution of the subject, actor, agent and protagonist, we used the Brazilian singer, composer and poet Karina Buhr.Resumo em Português:
RESUMO O objetivo deste trabalho é problematizar o protagonismo da linguagem escrita a partir da retomada de estudos anteriores, (CORREA, 2009; 2011a) e também (CORREA, 2014). Para tanto, inicialmente, trago discussões sobre o conceito de língua e, em um segundo momento, trago algumas reflexões sobre agência e agenciamento. Em seguida, retomo estudos anteriores sobre a linguagem escrita para abordá-la numa visão pragmática. Por fim, trago dois exemplos para estabelecer conexões entre o pensamento hegemônico acerca da escrita em contraponto à visão descolonizada de escrita, de modo que concluo chamando a atenção para a necessidade de descolonizar o intelecto.Resumo em Inglês:
ABSTRACT This work resumes previous studies by (CORREA, 2009; 2011a) and also (CORREA, 2014) aiming at questioning the role of written language. First, the concept of language is addressed, and then some reflections on agency are developed. Next, previous studies on written language are referred to approaching it in a pragmatic view. Finally, two examples are provided to establish connections between the hegemonic thought about writing as opposed to the decolonized view of writing. The conclusion draws attention to the necessity of decolonizing the intellect.Resumo em Português:
RESUMO Neste artigo, buscamos promover o debate teórico acerca dos direitos linguísticos e, ao mesmo tempo, problematizar o lugar do linguista nos processos de luta protagonizados pelos sujeitos falantes de línguas historicamente minorizadas. Para isso, apresentamos os argumentos dos autores que defendem os direitos linguísticos de minorias linguísticas e seus pressupostos teóricos, assim como as recentes críticas que têm sido feitas a tal paradigma, de modo a incitar uma reflexão sobre nossas práticas e posicionamentos enquanto teóricos da linguagem que falam de um lugar privilegiado. Concluímos que, no que concerne aos direitos linguísticos e às políticas linguísticas neles implicadas, os próprios sujeitos falantes das línguas minorizadas é que devem protagonizar tais debates, cabendo a nós, intelectuais acadêmicos, o papel de garantir espaços e condições para que a voz desses sujeitos seja ouvida.Resumo em Inglês:
ABSTRACT In this article we aimed to promote the theoretical debate on language rights and, at the same time, to question the place of the linguist in the processes of struggle carried out by the subjects who historically speaks minority languages. For this, we present the arguments from authors who defend the language rights of linguistic minorities and their theoretical assumptions, as well as recent criticisms that have been made to such a paradigm, in order to incite a reflection on our practices and positions as language theorists who speak from a privileged place. We concluded that, with regard to language rights and the language policies implied, the very subjects who speak the minority languages should be the protagonists of such debates, and it is up to us, academic intellectuals, the role of ensuring spaces and conditions for the voice of these subjects to be heard.Resumo em Português:
RESUMO Neste artigo, que tem por objetivo discutir protagonismo e linguagem, focalizamos entrevistas com o editor do jornal O Trecheiro e um texto publicado no mesmo jornal. Esses dados ilustram questões centrais de acesso discursivo ao debate do protagonismo na linguagem. A posição autoral de textos com acesso a espaços discursivos é um aspecto crucial quando se vinculam protagonismo e linguagem. Por isso, analisar como a posição objetiva de autor/a é ocupada subjetivamente é relevante para compreender o papel de um veículo midiático alternativo na promoção de mudanças na sociedade.Resumo em Inglês:
ABSTRACT In this paper, which aims to discuss protagonism and language, we focus on interviews with the editor of the newspaper O Trecheiro and a text published in the same newspaper. These data illustrate issues of discursive access central to the debate of protagonism in language. The authorial position of texts with access to discursive spaces is a crucial aspect when linking protagonism and language. For this reason, analyzing how the objective position of author is subjectively occupied is relevant to understanding the role of an alternative media vehicle in promoting change in society.Resumo em Português:

RESUMO Este artigo analisa, no âmbito da Linguística Aplicada e em uma perspectiva interacional, a fase denominada “historiando o conflito”, uma das cinco fases identificadas pelo grupo de pesquisa Interação em Contextos Institucionais como recorrentes em uma entrevista de mediação. Este trabalho analisa como o mediador e as partes em desacordo negociam os espaços para que o conflito possa ser elaborado, trabalhado e transformado por aqueles que procuram a Justiça para resolverem suas questões familiares. A análise de dados reais de fala-em-interação mostra que a formulação, a reformulação e a coconstrução das narrativas são a forma central de ação dos atores no contexto estudado, sendo a construção de suas identidades realizada por meio da linguagem. Por fim, tal como postulam os manuais do direito e por meio do estudo das narrativas, analisamos o empoderamento e o exercício de protagonismo por parte dos entrevistados.Resumo em Inglês:
ABSTRACT: This article analyzes, in the scope of Applied Linguistics and in an interactional perspective, the phase called “Historicizing the Conflict”, one of the five phases identified by the research group Interação em Contextos Institucionais as recurrent in a mediation interview. This research analyses how the mediator and the parties in disagreement negotiate the spaces so that the conflict can be elaborated, worked through and transformed by those who seek justice to solve their family issues. The analysis of real talk-in-interaction data shows that formulation, reformulation and co-construction of narratives are the main means of the action of those involved in the context studied, and the identity construction of these actors is accomplished through language. Lastly, as well as the manuals of law postulate and through the study of narratives, we analyzed the empowerment and the exercise of protagonism of the interviewees.Resumo em Português:
RESUMO O interesse na relação indivíduo-sociedade é marcado na teoria social pela diversidade na compreensão do papel da agência na ação humana. Neste trabalho, revisitamos a questão da agência em uma perspectiva aplicada. Pretende-se examinar a agência na prática policial a partir da análise do discurso meta-agentivo que emerge em uma narrativa de desacato produzida espontaneamente por um policial durante uma entrevista de pesquisa. Com base na análise, foi possível verificar que: (i) apesar da gama de escolhas possíveis de ação circunscritas pela lei e pelos contextos situados, costuma-se aplicar uma única rota de ação a todas as situações avaliadas como desacato; (ii) há um novo modelo de policial cujo caráter reflexivo e crítico se alinha ao modelo de proximidade que se vem tentando implementar nas políticas de segurança pública no Rio de Janeiro.Resumo em Inglês:
ABSTRACT The interest in the individual-society relationship is characterized in social theory by the diversity concerning the role of agency in human action. In this article, we revisit the issue of agency in an applied perspective. We aim to examine agency in police practice through the analysis of the meta-agentive discourse emerged in a narrative whose theme was the disrespect of a police officer during a research interview. The analysis shows that: (i) despite the range of possible choices of actions circumscribed by the law and the situated contexts, a single route of action is usually applied to all situations that are evaluated as disrespect; (ii) there is a new model of police officer whose reflexive and critical character is aligned with a model of community-oriented police that the government has been trying to implement in public security policies in Rio de Janeiro.Resumo em Português:
RESUMO Este trabalho tem por escopo estudar a função dos conectores, enquanto elemento de (não) assunção da responsabilidade enunciativa, na construção do projeto argumentativo do produtor do texto e de seus propósitos argumentativos. Do ponto de vista teórico, amparamo-nos em Adam, Gomes, Guentchéva, entre outros autores. Do ponto de vista metodológico, analisamos um corpus constituído por treze sentenças condenatórias oriundas da comarca de Currais Novos-RN e prolatadas no ano de 2012. Os dados evidenciam como os conectores podem indicar se um determinado conteúdo proposicional é assumido ou não pelo locutor, bem como os efeitos de sentido advindos dessa (não) assunção. Assim, esse trabalho se configura como protagonista nos estudos que discutem o fenômeno em questão, abordado na interface Linguagem - Direito.Resumo em Inglês:
ABSTRACT The scope of this study is an examination of how connectors, as elements that can assume, or not, enunciative responsibility, function in the development of text argumentation, and in the author’s argumentative propositions. The theoretical framework is based on Adam, Gomes, Guentchéva and others; and the methodology includes the analysis of a corpus of thirteen conviction sentences from the district of Currais Novos-RN, issued in 2012. The data shows how connectors can indicate when and if a particular propositional content is taken up by the speaker, as well as expose the meaning effects of assuming responsibility or not. Thus, this work takes the lead of studies of the phenomenon in question, approached from the interface of Language and Law.Resumo em Português:
RESUMO Este artigo propõe uma discussão teórica e um relato de experiência com base no conceito de performance aliado à leitura das narrativas literárias em um contexto de alunos surdos, usuários da língua de sinais. Para isso, estruturamos o estudo da seguinte forma: inicialmente, uma apresentação das especificidades do contexto estudado; em seguida, uma reflexão acerca do conceito de performance ligado à leitura literária; e, posteriormente, uma descrição e análise de uma atividade de literatura realizada com os alunos surdos adultos de turma de Educação Básica. Assim, ressaltamos a contribuição de atividades que envolvam o trânsito entre línguas e linguagens para um contato mais produtivo com os textos narrativos ficcionais por esses sujeitos.Resumo em Inglês:
ABSTRACT This article proposes a theoretical discussion and an experience report based on the concept of performance combined with the reading of literary narratives in a context of deaf students, sign language users. For this, we structured the study as follows: initially, a presentation of the specificities of the studied context, then a reflection about the concept of performance linked to literary reading, and, later, the description and analysis of a literature activity performed with adult deaf students in a Basic Education class. Thus, we emphasize the contribution of activities that involve the transit between languages for a more productive contact with fictional narrative texts by these subjects.Resumo em Português:
RESUMO Neste artigo temos como objetivo reconhecer protagonismo e agentividade no trabalho de fazer aprendizagem em dados de fala-em-interação da pesquisa de mestrado de Petermann (2016) realizada em um colégio privado no Paraná que funciona por meio de projetos temáticos de aprendizagem. A perspectiva epistemológica é a da Análise da Conversa Etnometodológica (LODER; JUNG, 2008, 2009; SACKS; SCHEGLOFF; JEFFERSON, 2003). Como resultado os dados apontam para uma nova ordem comunicativa de sala de aula que amplia as possibilidades de participação, agentividade e protagonismo na construção conjunta de conhecimento.Resumo em Inglês:
ABSTRACT In this paper, we aim to recognize the protagonism and agentivity in the learning activity in talk-in-interaction data of Petermann’s master’s research project (2016) held at a private high school in Paraná, which works with thematic learning projects. Our epistemological perspective is Ethnomethodological Conversation Analysis (LODER; JUNG, 2008, 2009; SACKS; SCHEGLOFF; JEFFERSON, 1974). As a result, data point to a new communicative order in classroom that increases the possibilities of participation, agentivity and protagonism in the joint construction of knowledge.
