Resumo Após uma breve apresentação de Hölderlin e de sua poesia, o texto examina traduções de seus poemas no Brasil, considerando as formas métricas, dada a significância que certos metros têm para a caracterização de gêneros líricos, odes e elegias, praticados pelo autor, determinantes para sua compreensão. A análise leva em conta as diferenças no sistema de versificação (al. Verssysteme) (Kayser 1964: 82-85) nas línguas de partida e de chegada, bem como reflexões e práticas tradutórias concebidas no Brasil no âmbito dos estudos clássicos, em que se lida, por sua vez, com outro sistema de versificação, diverso tanto do que é utilizado em língua portuguesa quanto alemã. Em especial desempenham papel reflexões de J. A. Oliva Neto (2017; 2020) e a proposta de estabelecimento de equivalências entre formas, no que diz respeito ao metro da tradução e obra a ser traduzida. A escolha das traduções para a análise baseou-se em sua circulação e na apresentação de poemas em conjunto, o que foi considerado importante para a percepção de recorrências entre eles. Como resultado, correspondências sistemáticas na metrificação não puderam ser encontradas nas traduções analisadas. Porém, percebem-se nelas, de modo geral, possibilidades para um tal procedimento, delineadas de maneira incipiente.

Abstract After a brief introduction of Hölderlin and his poetry, the article inquires into translations of his poems in Brazil. It focuses on metric forms, given the importance they have to characterization and comprehension of lyric genres in which the author writes, as odes and elegy. The analysis takes into consideration differences between the systems of versification (Verssysteme) (Kayser 1964: 82-85) of both the source and the target language. The article was built in part upon ideas of J. A. Oliva Neto (2017; 2020) and his suggestions of equivalencies between metric forms in the source text and its translation. Also, reflections on and practices of translation conceived in Brazil in the field of Classic Studies play a key role for the analysis, by adding a third element of comparison, since both ancient Greek and Latin use another system of versification, different from both Portuguese and German. The selection of the translated poems Hölderlin’s for analysis was based on their circulation and publication together with other works of the author. This was considered important for the perception of recurrences of forms by the readers. The analyzes show that no systematic correspondences in the use of metric forms can be found in the translations, even though possibilities in this direction are being discussed and proposed in an incipient manner.

Zusammenfassung Der vorliegende Text widmet sich einer Analyse von Übersetzungen der Lyrik Hölderlins ins Portugiesische. Metrische Formen werden besonders berücksichtigt, da sie bedeutend für die Charakterisierung und das Verständnis von lyrischen Gattungen sind, in denen der Autor schreibt, wie Oden und Elegien. Dabei werden Unterschiede in den Verssystemen (Kayser 1964: 82-85) der Ausgangs- und Zielsprache beachtet. In dieser Analyse spielen Übersetzungen und Reflexionen eine wichtige Rolle, die in Brasilien im Bereich der klassischen Studien konzipiert wurden, insbesondere die Vorschläge von J. A. Oliva Neto (2017; 2020) im Hinblick auf die Wiedergabe von metrischen Formen von unterschiedlichen Verssystemen. Die Auswahl der Übersetzungen für die Analyse gründet auf ihrer Verbreitung und Veröffentlichung im Zusammenhang mit anderen Gedichten des Autors. Das sollte die Perzeption der sich durch seine Gedichte hindurchziehenden metrischen Gefüge erleichtern. In den analysierten Übersetzungen konnte jedoch kein systematisches Verfahren im Bereich der Metrik festgestellt werden, wenn auch einige Ansätze zu möglichen Entsprechungen zwischen metrischen Formen angedeutet werden.

Resumo O presente artigo é uma análise do texto Die Bürgerpflicht der Frau (1895), da escritora alemã Lily Braun. O texto é um marco na história do movimento de mulheres alemão e oferece importantes subsídios para a reflexão sobre as contradições e tensões que marcam o pensamento e a atuação de Lily Braun. No artigo, ofereço um breve resumo da vida e obra da autora, apresento os contornos gerais do texto e procuro situá-lo em seu contexto histórico-social. Levanto a hipótese de que o movimento geral do texto de Lily Braun se explica como uma tentativa de expandir a esfera da empatia e o arco dos direitos para incluir segmentos da sociedade - como as mulheres e a classe trabalhadora mais pobre - então largamente excluídos. Essa tentativa deixa uma série de características textuais que procuro analisar em profundidade. Argumento ainda que o utilitarismo clássico milliano pode ter fornecido a Lily Braun uma base ético-filosófica para articular o seu esforço de mobilizar a empatia do público. Por fim, argumento que o texto nos permite refletir sobre as relações entre narrativa e empatia, e que o parâmetro textual do público exerce um papel mediador entre essas duas esferas.

Abstract Lily Braun’s Die Bürgerpflicht der Frau (The Civic Duty of Women / Woman’s Duty as a Citizen) is a landmark text in the history of the German women’s movement and offers valuable insights into the contradictions and tensions within Braun’s life and thought. In this article I provide a brief summary of Braun’s life and work, present the overall argument of the text, and try to place it in its social and historical context. I argue that Braun’s argument can be described as an attempt to widen the circle of empathy and expand the sphere of moral and legal rights to include the women and the working-class poor. This attempt leaves a range of textual features for which I try to offer an in-depth analysis. It is shown that classical utilitarianism may have provided Braun with a framework for articulating her effort to elicit the empathy of her audience. Finally, it is argued that Braun’s text provides valuable insights into the relationship between narrative and empathic responses, as well as into the role of the addressed audience in mediating between these two spheres.

Resumo Este estudo investiga alguns ensaios bíblicos de Johann Gottfried von Herder com o fim de pormenorizar o surgimento do conceito de “espírito” (Geist) em sua filosofia e de salientar como essa concepção simultaneamente se insere e redefine a tradição judaico-cristã sobre o tema. Para tanto, são analisados os textos Lieder der Liebe, Vom Geist der Ebräischen Poesie e Von der Gabe der Sprachen am ersten christlichen Pfingstfest a partir dos quais o espírito é pensado, ao longo de três décadas (entre 1778 a 1794), respectivamente como: poesia popular, vitalidade social, organicidade e cultura. É possível afirmar que os ensaios bíblicos de Herder ultrapassam a teologia, investigando, de maneira laica, as especificidades das religiões, das línguas, das tradições ou das culturas, cujas nuances podem esclarecer ou questionar dicotomias relevantes, tais como: natureza-cultura, cultura-civilização ou até mesmo humanidade-animalidade.

Abstract This article investigates some biblical essays of Johann Gottfried von Herder in order to demonstrate the emergence of the concept of “spirit” (Geist) in his philosophy and stresses how this conception simultaneously fits in and redefines the Judeo-Christian tradition on the subject. The article analyses the texts Lieder der Liebe, Vom Geist der Ebräischen Poesie and Von der Gabe der Sprachen am ersten christliche Pfingstfest, as starting points in which “spirit” is thought over three decades (from 1778 to 1794) respectively as: popular poetry, social vitality, organicity and culture. In that respect Herder's biblical essays overpass theology, investigating, in a secular way, the specificities of religions, languages, traditions or cultures, whose nuances may discern and question relevant dichotomies, such as: nature-culture, culture-civilization, or even humanity-animality.

Resumen A los 190 años de la partida del reconocido escritor alemán, una de sus obras de juventud es importante para entender la actualidad de su crítica a las sociedades afianzadas en la anulación de los individuos. El presente artículo tiene como objetivo detenerse en dos puntos concretos de la celebre novela. El primer punto tiene que ver con la incipiente burocratización del trabajo en los albores de la modernidad capitalista en la Alemania del siglo XVIII y la deformación del sujeto, cuya consecuencia es una existencia mediada por lo tanático. Esta primacía de lo tanático deviene en la creación de un potencial criminal y en una enajenación con un marcado acento homicida. El segundo punto está relacionado con una propuesta de lectura: Goethe se apropia de los elementos de las Kriminalgeschichten para señalar una serie de problemas de orden social, religioso y político vinculadas a las aspiraciones revolucionarias de la burguesía alemana del período. La conjunción de ambos elementos permiten renovar la importancia de la novela en relación con una crítica a las formas opresivas estatales-jurídicas, sociales y económicas que se hallan en las contradictorias estructuras ideológicas de la modernidad en Alemania.

Abstract 190 years after the departure of the renowned German writer, one of his early works is of great importance today in order to understand the relevance of his criticism of societies entrenched in the annulment of individuals. This article aims to dwell on two specific points of the famous novella. The first point has to do with the incipient bureaucratization of work at the dawn of capitalist modernity in eighteenth-century Germany and the deformation of the subject, the consequence of which is an existence mediated by the thanatic. This primacy of the thanatic becomes the creation of a criminal potential and an alienation with a marked homicidal accent. The second point is related to a reading proposal: Goethe appropriates the elements of the Kriminalgeschichten to point out a series of social, religious and political problems linked to the revolutionary aspirations of the German bourgeoisie of the period. The conjunction of both elements allows to renew the importance of the novella in relation to a critique of the oppressive public legal, social and economic forms that are found in the contradictory ideological structures of modernity in Germany.

Resumo As contribuições literárias de Friedrich Heinrich Jacobi foram muito reduzidas às querelas filosóficas nas quais o autor participou. Contudo, Jacobi publicou dois importantes romances que, além da boa acolhida recebida em sua época, dialogaram fortemente com as tendências da época. O presente artigo visa analisar de que maneira o primeiro desses romances, Eduard Allwills Briefsammlung, pode servir como uma importante contribuição para a literatura moderna e para o estabelecimento de tendências e estruturas posteriormente exploradas desde o romantismo até a literatura contemporânea. Segundo nossa análise, o romance de Jacobi é marcado por um forte traço de negatividade, sendo este elemento inserido através do personagem principal, Eduard Allwill. Ao emular gêneros como o romance epistolar ou o romance filosófico, Jacobi utiliza essa negatividade como uma chave que produz efeitos de suspensão e de subversão na constituição de um novo romance. Nossa análise busca demonstrar como essa negatividade é realizada através do conceito de demoníaco, herdado da filosofia e convertido em um dos principais componentes da literatura moderna.

Abstract Friedrich Heinrich Jacobi's literary contributions were largely reduced to the philosophical squabbles in which the author participated. However, Jacobi published two important novels which in addition to the good reception they received at the time also conversed strongly with the trends of their era. This article aims to analyze how the first of these novels, Eduard Allwills Briefsammlung, might be seen as an important contribution to modern literature and to the establishment of trends and structures which were later explored from romanticism on up to contemporary literature. According to our analysis, Jacobi's novel is marked by a strong trait of negativity, and this element is inserted through the main character, Eduard Allwill. By emulating genres such as the epistolary novel or the philosophical novel, Jacobi uses this negativity as a key which produces effects of suspension and subversion in the constitution of a new kind of novel. Our analysis seeks to demonstrate how this negativity is realized through the concept of the daemonic, inherited from philosophy, and then converted into one of the main components of modern literature.

Resumo Construir possibilidades de circulação das informações é essencial para qualquer área do conhecimento e quando se trata de uma área específica da Linguística, como a Linguística Contrastiva, par de língua Português e Alemão, torna-se imprescindível para o reconhecimento e a consolidação da área. Nesse sentido, esta pesquisa se propõe a buscar a literatura produzida na área, ampliando levantamento anterior (Sipriano, Souza e Pereira 2021) para áreas intra- e extralinguísticas (Tekin 2012). O intento é concentrar os dados bibliográficos em locus acessível a toda comunidade científica. A partir das produções encontradas, traçamos análise quanti-qualitativa no que diz respeito ao número de produções, à concentração de trabalhos por área e por periódico científico. Os dados encontrados possibilitaram, ainda, uma reflexão a respeito da política de classificação dos periódicos científicos e seus impactos na comunidade científica e na sociedade.

Abstract It is essential for any area of knowledge to build possibilities of information circulation and, when it comes to a specific area of Linguistics, such as the Portuguese/German language pair Contrastive Linguistics, it is essential for the recognition and consolidation of the area. In this sense, this research proposes to review the literature produced in the area, extending the previous survey (Sipriano, Souza e Pereira 2021) to intra- and extralinguistic areas (Tekin 2012). The intent is to concentrate bibliographic data in a locus that will be accessible to the entire scientific community. From the publications found, we conducted a quanti-qualitative analysis of the number of productions, the concentration of studies per area and per scientific periodical. The obtained data also made it possible to reflect on the classification of scientific journals and their impact on the scientific community and on society.

Zusammenfassung Zugang zu Informationsmöglichkeiten zu verschaffen ist für jedes Wissensgebiet unerlässlich. Wenn es sich um ein spezifisches Gebiet der Linguistik handelt, wie z. B. die Kontrastive Linguistik für das Sprachenpaar Portugiesisch/Deutsch, ist dies für die Anerkennung und Konsolidierung des Fachs unbedingt nötig. In diesem Sinne wird in dieser Untersuchung vorgeschlagen, die in diesem Bereich entstandene Literatur zu durchsuchen und die bisherige Untersuchung (Sipriano, Souza e Pereira 2021) auf linguistische und außerlinguistische Disziplinen auszuweiten (Tekin 2012). Das eigentliche Ziel ist es, die bibliografischen Daten an einem Ort zu sammeln, der für die gesamte wissenschaftliche Gemeinschaft zugänglich ist. Anhand der gefundenen Produktionen wird eine quantitative Analyse hinsichtlich der Anzahl der Produktionen verfolgt, der Konzentration der Werke pro Bereich und pro wissenschaftlicher Zeitschrift. Die erfassten Daten ermöglichten auch eine Diskussion über das Rangsystem wissenschaftlicher Zeitschriften und ihre Auswirkungen auf die wissenschaftliche Gemeinschaft und die Gesellschaft.
