O artigo apresenta o estado da arte da pesquisa ecocrítica sobre a literatura alemã. Apesar de esta ter se iniciado tardiamente em comparação com os EUA, já há um número de publicações que apontam para uma área em desenvolvimento.

Franz Kafka's (1883-1924) "Die Brücke" is one of the less well-known texts by one of the most prolific authors of literary modernity. However, this short prose text embodies prevalent questions of literary modernity and philosophy as it reflects the crisis of language in regard of identity, communication, and literary production. Placed in the context of fin-de-siècle's discourse of language crisis, this article provides a dialogue between Kafka's "Die Brücke" and Hannah Arendt's (1906-1975) philosophy of thinking and speaking in The Life of the Mind. Contrary to Arendt's understanding of the metaphor as "a carrying over" between the mental activities of the solitude thinker and a reconciliation with the pluralistic world shared with others, this article argues for a deconstructionist reading of "Die Brücke" as a tool to reevaluate Arendt's notion of a shared human experience ensured through language and illustrates the advantages of poetic texts within philosophical discourses.

"Die Brücke" von Franz Kafka (1883-1934) ist einer der weniger beachteten poetischen Texte des Autors. Dieser Artikel argumentiert für die Relevanz dieses Prosastückes innerhalb des Diskurses der literarischen Moderne und der Philosophie hinsichtlich von Fragen nach Identitäts- und Sprachkrise und der Möglichkeit von literarischer Produktion. Indem ein Dialog zwischen Kafkas poetischem Text und Hannah Arendts (1906-1975) Philosophie des Denkens und des Sprechens in The Life of the Mind hergestellt wird, zeigt dieser Artikel wie Kafkas "Brücke" Arendts Verständnis einer Verbindung zwischen der geistigen Welt und der Welt als pluralistischen Ort, den wir mit anderen Menschen teilen, dekonstuiert und folglich auch die Annahme menschlicher Grunderfahrungen und ihrer Mitteilbarkeit in Frage stellt. Damit thematisiert dieser Artikel auch die Vorteile poetischer Texte innerhalb des philosophischen Diskurses.

A influência de Bertolt Brecht sobre Walter Benjamin é comumente atribuída à assimilação da tradição de crítica marxista pelo último. O presente artigo busca realizar uma crítica imanente e teórica da obra de ambos com o fito de investigar outras faces possíveis dessa influência. Sendo assim, o objetivo é demonstrar que o "Efeito de distanciamento" (em alemão Verfremdungseffekt) utilizado por Brecht em seu teatro épico tem um papel fundamental na leitura que Benjamin fará do cinema e aparece nas quatro versões do ensaio sobre "A obra de arte na época de sua reprodutibilidade técnica", bem como na sua teoria sobre a "aura".

The influence of Bertolt Brecht on Walter Benjamin is usually related to the assimilation of the critical Marxist tradition by the latter. The present article seeks to carry out an immanent and theoretical critique of the work of both authors, pursuing to investigate other possible aspects of this influence. On that ground, the goal is to demonstrate that the "distancing effect" (Verfremdungseffekt in German) employed by Brecht in his epic theatre plays a crucial role in the way Benjamin analyses the art of filming and appears in the four versions of the "The work of art in the age of mechanical reproduction" essay, as well as in his theory about the "aura".

O presente texto lida com a forma do juízo em Hölderlin e Hegel, focalizando principalmente seus momentos de divisão e unificação. Inicialmente, unificação e divisão são aqui tratadas a partir de temáticas desenvolvidas em torno do amor no séc. XVIII. O juízo é analisado basicamente no âmbito da Ciência da lógica, de Hegel, de prefácios do romance Hyperion e do texto "Juízo e Ser", de Hölderlin. A análise visa expor as passagens entre esses momentos do juízo nos textos supracitados, as quais mobilizam relações entre singular, particular e geral. Considerando essas relações, propõe-se uma interpretação do romance acima mencionado.

The present text deals with the form of judgment in Hölderlin and Hegel, focusing mainly on its moments of division and unity. Primarily, both unity and division are related here to topics of love that were developed in the 18th century. Judgment is analyzed within Hegel's Science of Logic and Hölderlin's prefaces of the novel Hyperion and his text "Judgment and Being". The analysis aims to show the connections between these two moments of judgment in the aforementioned texts, the ones which explore the relationships between the categories of singular, particular and universal. Considering these relationships, an interpretation of Hyperion is proposed.

Este artigo recapitula as traduções de Wilhelm Busch publicadas no Brasil e aponta que determinadas circunstâncias de publicação levaram a uma recepção unilateral de sua obra exclusivamente como literatura infantil nesse país. Entre outras estratégias que poderiam estender para uma faixa etária adulta o público leitor da poesia humorística buschiana, propõe-se que o Knittelvers seja traduzido para o português como decassílabo iâmbico. Uma tradução anotada do poema "Hänsel und Gretel" nesse padrão métrico-acentual testa em que medida a escolha consciente de um ritmo e o aproveitamento de associações culturais desencadeadas por ele podem destacar o efeito irônico desse pseudoconto-de-fada.

The present article recapitulates the Brazilian translations of Wilhelm Busch and points out that some publication circumstances have led to a biased reception of his work exclusively as children's literature in this country. Among other translation strategies which could contribute to extend the reading public of his work to an adult audience, this article proposes that the Knittelvers should be translated into Portuguese as a jambic ten-syllable line. An annotated translation of Busch's illustrated poem "Hänsel und Gretel", in this metric pattern, tests in which extent the conscious choice of rhythm and the attainment of cultural associations triggered by it can intensify the ironical effect of this mock fairy tale.

Dieser Artikel rekapituliert die brasilianischen Übersetzungen von Wilhelm Busch und weist darauf hin, dass manche Veröffentlichungsumstände in diesem Land zu einer einseitigen Rezeption seines Werkes ausschließlich als Kinderliteratur geführt haben. Unter anderen Übersetzungsstrategien, die zu einer Erweiterung seiner Rezeption durch ein erwachsenes Lesepublikum beitragen könnten, wird vorgeschlagen, dass der Knittelvers ins Portugiesische als ein jambischer zehnsilbigen Vers übersetzt wird. Eine kommentierte Übersetzung der Bildergeschichte "Hänsel und Gretel" in diesem metrischen Muster überprüft in welchem Maß der bewusste Gebrauch von Rhythmus und die Beachtung mancher kultureller Assoziationen von Metrik die ironische Wirkung dieses Pseudo-Märchens verstärken können.

Este artigo analisa, de um ponto de vista comparativo, o comportamento sintático de sintagmas adverbiais não-oracionais no Alemão e no Português do Brasil. Examinam-se sintagmas de seis categorias, cujas funções semânticas vão desde a descrição do estado de coisas até a descrição da atitude do falante. No todo, a sintaxe dos adverbiais mostra grande similaridade entre as duas línguas. No alemão, parece haver uma tendência um pouco mais forte para a integração sintática dos adverbiais, enquanto no português existem mais possibilidades de empregos sintaticamente desintegrados.

This paper analyses the syntactic behaviour of non-clausal adverbials in German and Brazilian Portuguese in a comparative perspective. Six classes of adverbials are examined, whose semantic functions reach from the description of the state of affairs to the description of the speaker's attitude. On the whole, the syntax of adverbials shows great similarity in the two languages. In German, there seems to be a somewhat stronger tendency towards syntactic integration of adverbials, whereas Portuguese offers more possibilities of syntactically disintegrated uses.

Der Aufsatz untersucht das syntaktische Verhalten nicht-satzförmiger Adverbialia im Deutschen und im brasilianischen Portugiesisch in vergleichender Perspektive. Behandelt werden Adverbialia aus sechs Klassen, deren semantische Funktionen von der Sachverhaltsbeschreibung bis zur Beschreibung von Handlungsabsichten des Sprechers reichen. Insgesamt zeigen sich große Ähnlichkeiten zwischen den Vergleichssprachen. Im Deutschen scheint eine etwas stärkere Tendenz zu bestehen, Adverbialia syntaktisch zu integrieren, während es im Portugiesischen mehr Möglichkeiten gibt, sie desintegriert zu verwenden.

This study focuses on stereotypes about Germany, its culture and people, held by learners of German in a big public university in Malaysia. It examines not only the stereotypical representations of the target language country but also assesses its favourability and salience, which has not been done previously. The findings revealed that the students' stereotypes about Germany were varied and diverse. Also, they were overwhelmingly positive. The top three salient categories of images about Germany were related to technology, famous personalities - for the most part football players and scientists - and cars. The findings also indicated that very few references had been made to German culture and to its great cultural figures. The results of the present study suggest that students could benefit from a wider and deeper exposure to German culture in the language classroom.

Die folgende Studie untersucht stereotypische Wahrnehmungen in Bezug auf 'Deutsche' und 'Deutsche Kultur' unter den Studenten der Germanistik an einer großen öffentlichen Universität in Malaysia. Das Forschungsprojekt beleuchtet nicht nur stereotypische Repräsentationen des Landes 'Deutschland', sondern hinterfragt auch deren Bedeutung und Salienz - in einer Weise, wie es bisher noch nicht geschehen ist. Die Forschungsergebnisse haben erbracht, dass die auf Deutschland bezogenen stereotypischen Wahrnehmungen der Student(inn)en sowohl vielschichtig als auch vielfältig waren. Sie waren darüber hinaus auch überwiegend positiver Natur. An der Spitze des Deutschlandbildes der befragten Student(inn)en standen die drei Kategorien 'Technologie', 'berühmte Persönlichkeiten' - überwiegend Fußballer und Wissenschaftler - und 'Automobile'. Die Studie zeigte aber auch, dass es unter den Befragten nur ein sehr geringes Bewusstsein in Bezug auf 'Deutsche Kultur' und 'Kulturelle Persönlichkeiten' gab. Die dargelegten Forschungsresultate legen den Schluss nahe, dass Student(inn)en deutlich von einer weit intensiveren Behandlung deutscher Kultur im Sprachunterricht profitieren würden.

O objetivo principal deste artigo é apresentar uma visão geral dos resultados obtidos em uma pesquisa empírica envolvendo aprendizes adultos de alemão como língua estrangeira com conhecimentos prévios de inglês. O foco deste artigo recai sobre os processos envolvidos no ensino/aprendizagem de terceiras línguas, levando-se em consideração que a língua alemã é comumente aprendida como uma segunda língua estrangeira após o inglês. Os principais questionamentos da pesquisa estão baseados em processos de transferência positiva, bem como na interferência linguística observada em um grupo de 50 aprendizes de alemão dos níveis A1 a B1 do Quadro Europeu Comum de Referência para as Línguas. Ao que concerne a relação entre as línguas alemã e inglesa, a afirmação de que o inglês exerce um papel importante na aprendizagem de alemão pôde ser confirmada, sendo o parentesco etimológico entre as duas línguas um dos mais importantes fatores para se determinar a ocorrência de influência interlinguística. Por outro lado, a interferência linguística resultante da coexistência de ambas as línguas demanda o desenvolvimento de uma didática do plurilinguismo que compreenda métodos alternativos para o ensino/aprendizagem de alemão como segunda língua estrangeira no Brasil.

The main purpose of this paper is to present an overview of the results of an empirical research involving adult learners of German as a foreign language with previous knowledge of English. It focuses on some of the processes related to the learning/teaching of third languages, taking into consideration that the German language is usually learned as a second foreign language, especially after English. The main questions of the research are based on positive transfer processes as well as linguistic interference observed in a group of 50 learners of German, levels A1 to B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. As for what concerns the relationship between English and German, the assumption that English exerts an important role in the learning process of German could be confirmed, being the etymological relationship between languages one of the most important elements in order to determine the occurrence of cross-linguistic influence. On the other hand, the linguistic interference that results from the coexistence of both languages in the learner's brain demands the development of a plurilingualism didactic that embraces alternative methods for the teaching/learning of German as a second foreign language in Brazil.

O presente trabalho tem como objetivo analisar o gênero textual "Motivationsschreiben", documento que deve ser elaborado por candidatos que almejam o ingresso num programa de mestrado ou uma bolsa de estudos na Alemanha. Baseando-se em um corpus de 30 "Motivationsschreiben" recolhidos para a dissertação na Universidade de Leipzig e na UFPR entre os meses de novembro de 2013 a maio de 2014, a análise enfocou a relevância, o contexto comunicativo e as funções do gênero textual.

This study aims to analyse the text genre "Motivationsschreiben", a document that must be prepared by applicants who aspire joining in a master's program or a scholarship in Germany. Based on a corpus of 30 "Motivationsschreiben" which were collected for the dissertation from the University of Leipzig and UFPR between February and July 2014 the analysis focused on the relevance, the communicative context and functions of the text genre.

Ziel des vorliegenden Artikels ist die Analyse von Motivationsschreiben, einer Textsorte, die bei der Bewerbung um einen Masterstudienplatz oder um ein Stipendium häufig eingereicht werden muss. Anhand eines Korpus von 30 Motivationsschreiben, welche im Rahmen der Masterarbeit von November 2013 bis Mai 2014 gesammelt wurden, sollen die Relevanz, der Kommunikationskontext und die Textfunktionen der offenen Textsorte aufgezeigt werden.
