Leadershipand professional performance in information centers

ABSTRACT

Managing information centers has required many skills and competencies beyond the traditional techniques of information science. The changes verified in the workplace, driven by the new digital paradigms, indicate that the qualification of information professionals needs to go through changes, in which management and leadership cannot be forgotten. This research sought publications that address the theme of leadership in articles within the subject field. The temporal delimitation was from 2000 to 2018, in the ISTA, Brapci, WOS and SciELO bases. A total of 103 articles were retrieved and 18 articles aligned to the theme that comprised the study were selected. It shows that despite few results obtained, all authors point to the needs for change, to similar and impactful leadership elements for good management and performance in information unit.
