ABSTRACT
Mealybugs (Hemiptera: Pseudococcidae) of roots the palm Rhapis excelsa (Thunberg) Henry ex. Rehder collected in Lavras, State of Minas Gerais, were identified as Dysmicoccus brevipes (Cockerell, 1893), this being the first report of the occurrence of this pest on this plant in Brazil.
