Foram estudados 4 antibióticos (penicilina, estreptomicina, cloranfenicol e aureomicina) com relação a indução de mutações em uma linguagem de S. tuphimurium deficiente para triptofano e uma linhagem de X. campestris deficiente para o mesmo amino-ácido. Não foi verificada atividade mutagênica em nenhum dos antibióticos, em relação aos dois fatores estudados.
Four antibiotics have been tested (penicillin, streptomycin, chloranphenicol and aureomycin), with relation to induction of mutations in a strain of S. typhimurium triptophanelles and in a strain of X. campestris also deficient for tryptophan. No mutagenic action was detected in any case analysed.

SUMMARY
Four antibiotics have been tested (penicillin, streptomycin, chloranphenicol and aureomycin), with relation to induction of mutations in a strain of S. typhimurium triptophanelles and in a strain of X. campestris also deficient for tryptophan. No mutagenic action was detected in any case analysed.
