Road monitoring and soil use and occupation parameters: method for quali-quantitative data survey

Abstract

The afforestation project linked to urban planning allows a healthier environment and, therefore, for the mitigation of negative impacts to the trees as much as the environment itself. The objective of this work is to study the association between land use and occupation parameters, and street trees in Maringá City, Paraná State, Brazil. It was developed a spreadsheet based on two factors for the field survey research: soil occupation parameters and street trees. It was created a method to evaluate 52 parameters and determined the degree of compatibility between trees and land use and occupation in the Central Trade Zone (ZCC). Road monitoring planning applied to trees in ZCC is not carried out according to land use and occupation parameters. The recorded incompatibility results in less effective management of trees, but it is also a more costly management of trees due to pruning increment
