Abstract
Michael Taussig, an Australian anthropologist, and retired professor at Columbia University, is an essential author in contemporary anthropology. His research, based on fieldwork in Colombia, contributed to bringing together subareas that face difficulties meeting each other, such as ethnology, the anthropology of religion, reflections on politics, the state, and art. Far from being studies that fall into a single discipline, his undisciplined productions have also contributed to the maturation of issues that cross-cut anthropology: ethnography, fieldwork notebooks, and alterity. In this interview, we address some of these topics without neglecting others as they spontaneously emerged in our conversation.
