Abstract

This work aims to analyze the profile of higher education students who entered undergraduate courses after the period of expansion and diversification in the 21st century. To this end, it is necessary to review national and international literature, understand a little about the history of teacher education in Brazil and how the growth of higher education between 2002 and 2016 influenced the enrollment of students in courses. From this initial work, it is possible to interpret the results of the use of multinomial models for the manipulation of the Enades of 2015, 2016 and 2017 with more foundation. In these models, institutions with academic degree, network, modality as a dependent variable are used, while the socioeconomic level, the age and gender of the students were used as independent variables. The results show that students of low socioeconomic level, women and older people are more likely to be in undergraduate courses.
