Racismo entre psicologia social e criminologia crítica: encontros e perspectivas decoloniais

Abstract:

This article aims to think about the fields of Social Psychology and Critical Criminology, based on their commitment to radical social transformations in Brazilian society. In a dialectical approach and through a literature review, the essay is divided into three parts. Initially, notes are made on Social Psychology, inserted in the Brazilian reality. In the second segment, it focuses on criminological positivism and the constitution of a Critical Criminology, said to be marginal. It is followed by a case study on the Jacarezinho Massacre, analyzing its repercussion in the media and denouncing neutrality discourses and their justification. Finally, it advocates the defense of democratic theoretical-practical actions committed to the defense of human rights and engaging in opposition to structures that mitigate and validate epistemicide and violations of the rights of the vulnerable population, especially the black population.
