Juridical historiography and local autonomies in the Italy’s contemporary age

Abstract

This essay aims at studying the interpretations made by the current juridical historiography in relation with the Italian Cities’ Statutory Law, as traditionally conceived during the Middle and Modern Ages, also taking into account the fact that the Statutory Law is important for the existing Italian constitutional system.

Assistant Professor in History of Medieval and Modern Law at Università LUM “Jean Monnet” (Casamassima, Italy). In 2006 he became researcher fellow in History of Medieval and Modern Law at the same university. Degree in Law at the Università degli studi di Salerno (Fisciano, Italy). He had different scholarships financed by: the Università degli studi di Salern; the Second University of Naples; the European Centre for Norman Studies (Ariano Irpino, Italy), the University of Naples “Frederick II”; the University of Naples “Suor Orsola Benincasa”. He is fellow in the following academic institutions: the Italian Society for the History of Law; the Neapolitan Society of National History; the European Centre of Norman Studies.
