Uso de podcasts para educação em saúde: uma revisão de escopo

RESUMO

Objetivos:

mapear as evidências científicas relacionadas às características, temáticas e desfechos do uso de podcasts de educação em saúde direcionados para indivíduos maiores de 18 anos nos ambientes intra ou extrahospitalares.

Métodos:

revisão de escopo, baseando-se no método do Joanna Briggs Institute, realizada em 11 bases de dados, incluindo estudos de 2004 a 2022.

Resultados:

foram selecionados 11 estudos, categorizados e destacando as características, desfechos avaliados, áreas e condições de aplicação do podcast, apontando-o como uma ferramenta eficaz para promover a mudança comportamental, a promoção da saúde e a interação social, evidenciando seu potencial para melhorar o bem-estar, qualidade de vida e autonomia dos usuários/clientes.

Conclusões:

o uso do podcast demonstra ser uma ferramenta eficaz, inovadora e de baixo custo, com impacto social significativo, sendo eficaz para mudança comportamental, satisfação e interação social. No entanto, a falta de estudos abrangentes sobre as metodologias de desenvolvimento de podcasts representam desafios a serem superados.

ABSTRACT

Objectives:

to map the scientific evidence related to the characteristics, themes, and outcomes of using health education podcasts aimed at individuals over 18 years of age in intra or extrahospital environments.

Methods:

a scoping review, based on the Joanna Briggs Institute method, conducted in 11 databases, including studies from 2004 to 2022.

Results:

11 studies were selected, categorized, highlighting the characteristics, evaluated outcomes, areas, and conditions of podcast application, indicating it as an effective tool for promoting behavioral change, health promotion, and social interaction, demonstrating its potential to improve well-being, quality of life, and user/client autonomy.

Conclusions:

the use of podcasts proves to be an effective, innovative, and low-cost tool, with a significant social impact, being effective for behavioral change, satisfaction, and social interaction. However, the lack of comprehensive studies on podcast development methodologies represents challenges to be overcome.

Resultados:

se seleccionaron 11 estudios, categorizados y destacando las características, resultados evaluados, áreas y condiciones de aplicación del podcast, señalándolo como una herramienta eficaz para promover el cambio de comportamiento, la promoción de la salud y la interacción social, evidenciando su potencial para mejorar el bienestar, la calidad de vida y la autonomía de los usuarios/clientes.

Conclusiones:

el uso del podcast demuestra ser una herramienta eficaz, innovadora y de bajo costo, con un impacto social significativo, siendo eficaz para el cambio de comportamiento, la satisfacción y la interacción social. Sin embargo, la falta de estudios exhaustivos sobre las metodologías de desarrollo de podcasts representa desafíos a superar.

INTRODUÇÃO

A educação em saúde emerge como um processo colaborativo que engloba a orientação dos profissionais de saúde aos indivíduos, com o intuito de fomentar o desenvolvimento de competências e comportamentos voltados para a otimização dos desfechos de saúde(11 Barcellos CRB, Zillmer JGV, Ramos BR, Barz DB, Cordeiro FR, Luiz MB. Por meio desta abordagem, a educação do paciente pode exercer influência direta sobre seus padrões comportamentais, incitando modificações nos domínios do conhecimento, atitude e aptidões indispensáveis para a melhoria do seu estado de saúde(22 Williamson TM, Rouleau CR, Aggarwal SG, Arena R, Hauer T, Campbell TS. Nesse contexto, a participação ativa do indivíduo no processo educativo, seguindo abordagens pedagógicas e andragógicas, emerge como uma ferramenta valiosa no gerenciamento das condições de saúde. Assim, a implementação de estratégias voltadas para o engajamento do paciente, capazes de promover um entendimento aprofundado do binômio saúde-doença e viabilizar a aplicação precisa do conhecimento adquirido, emergem como uma abordagem de grande potencial nesse processo educativo(44 Wittink H, Oosterhaven J. Portanto, o podcast tem potencial para se configurar como um recurso promissor no aprimoramento e eficácia das estratégias educativas em saúde; no entanto, este é um recurso ainda subutilizado e pouco explorado na literatura. Neste sentido, propôs-se realizar uma revisão de escopo com vistas a explorar a literatura disponível para mapear as evidências científicas relacionadas ao uso de podcasts na educação em saúde de adultos e idosos.

Mapear as evidências científicas relacionadas às características, temáticas e desfechos do uso de podcasts de educação em saúde direcionados para indivíduos maiores de 18 anos nos ambientes intra ou extra hospitalar.

Como o presente estudo é uma revisão, a apreciação pelo Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa não se aplica.

É um estudo derivado de uma dissertação de mestrado e foi realizada nas seguintes etapas, de julho a setembro de 2022: revisão preliminar da literatura; desenvolvimento do título, questão de pesquisa e objetivos; determinação dos critérios de elegibilidade; elaboração do protocolo de revisão; desenvolvimento da estratégia de busca; seleção dos estudos; extração de dados; análise crítica dos estudos; apresentação dos resultados; e discussão dos achados.

Procedimento metodológico

Para o desenvolvimento deste estudo, foi realizada uma busca preliminar nas bases de dados MEDLINE, Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews e JBI Evidence Synthesis, da qual não foram identificadas revisões sistemáticas ou de escopo, realizadas ou em andamento, relacionadas ao uso do podcast como estratégia de educação do paciente.

Estratégia de Busca

A estratégia de busca visou localizar estudos tanto publicados quanto de literatura cinzenta e foi realizada em agosto de 2022.

Inicialmente, foi realizada uma primeira busca limitada com as palavras-chave “patient educationANDpodcast” nas bases Pubmed e Portal BVS para identificar potenciais estudos por dois revisores de maneira independente. Após essa seleção, foi realizada nova leitura dos títulos, resumos e palavras-chave, considerando os termos indexados e descritores DeCS/MeSH para o desenvolvimento da estratégia de busca adaptada a cada base de dados(1919 Tricco AC, Lillie E, Zarin W, O'Brien KK, Colquhoun H, Levac D, et al. Seleção de estudos

), para triagem, leitura do texto integral e seleção dos estudos, por dois revisores independentes. Após a seleção dos estudos, a lista de referências de todos os estudos incluídos foi analisada para busca de estudos adicionais. RESULTADOS

Após o processo de identificação e triagem de 1.654 estudos, foram selecionados 11 estudos para análise e inclusão, conforme apresentado no fluxograma baseado no PRISMA-ScR(1919 Tricco AC, Lillie E, Zarin W, O'Brien KK, Colquhoun H, Levac D, et al. Limitações do estudo

Este estudo apresenta algumas limitações que devem ser consideradas ao interpretar seus resultados. A heterogeneidade nos estudos incluídos, tanto em termos de desenhos de pesquisa quanto de populações de estudo, pode ter impactado a capacidade de realizar análises comparativas robustas.

As limitações relacionadas à qualidade dos estudos individuais também devem ser consideradas, uma vez que a falta de padronização na medição de desfechos e a possibilidade de viés de seleção podem ter afetado a validade dos resultados.

Por fim, as conclusões deste estudo são baseadas em uma revisão da literatura existente até a data de corte, e novos desenvolvimentos ou pesquisas publicadas após esse período podem não ter sido abordados.

Contribuições para as Áreas de Pesquisa e Saúde

Este estudo abrangente de revisão agregou conhecimento ao campo emergente da utilização de podcasts na educação em saúde, oferecendo uma síntese das evidências disponíveis até o momento. A pesquisa demonstra as possibilidades promissoras, inovadoras e eficazes no desenvolvimento e uso desta mídia como estratégia no processo educacional em saúde, revelando que, embora seja uma ferramenta valiosa, ainda não é amplamente adotada nem reconhecida.

Dessa forma, o estudo serve como um ponto de partida valioso para pesquisadores interessados em explorar ainda mais essa estratégia educacional inovadora.

CONCLUSÕES

No que se refere às características dos podcasts como ferramenta educacional em saúde, fica evidente que, no contexto educativo, essa mídia não apenas transcende limitações de espaço e tempo, mas também se revela como uma intervenção inovadora, de custo acessível e fácil implementação. Quando estruturado de maneira adequada, o podcast tem impacto social, simplificando o processo educativo e a disseminação de informações sobre saúde.

Apesar da escassez de evidências, o uso do podcast como ferramenta se mostrou eficaz para desfechos como mudança comportamental, perda de peso, satisfação e interação social. Contudo, suas virtudes vão além, sendo identificado como um recurso promotor de bem-estar, qualidade de vida, autonomia, autoestima e pertencimento. Assim, deve ser considerado como estratégia para aumento da adesão ao tratamento e comprometimento do indivíduo, especialmente em populações mais vulneráveis.

Diante da limitação de estudos sobre o tema, muitas lacunas ainda persistem, especialmente porque o conhecimento e descrição das metodologias de desenvolvimento de podcast ainda são campos pouco explorados. Além disso, a análise dos estudos selecionados destaca que as temáticas abordadas têm sido restritas, sugerindo estudos futuros considerando a relevância dessa mídia em gerar satisfação e aprimorar experiências de aprendizagem dos principais atores do processo: o profissional e o paciente.
