CARTOGRAPHY AS A METHODOLOGICAL METHOD FOR ORGANIZATIONAL RESEARCHERS: INVESTIGATING CONTEMPORARY PHENOMENA

This article aims to describe a research process in which we use the cartographic method to study a frontier theme in the field of organizational studies and work: the slash phenomenon. We propose a methodological discussion about cartography, broadening the theoretical and empirical possibilities, especially for organizational studies. Based on the rhizomatic concept proposed by Deleuze and Guattari, we describe the cartographic process of our research on 03 (three) routes: on cartography; on the cartographer; and mapping. As results, we present 04 (four) syntheses, which are: (i) the researcher-cartographer as part of the geography of his research; (ii) the conviction that the work of the cartographer is built slowly and in detail; (iii) the main characteristics observed in the field on cartography in organizational studies; and (iv) counterpoint to a possible "glamorization" of the dynamics of the slash phenomenon.
