CONSIDERATIONS ON ETHICS IN LATIN AMERICAN CRITICAL ORGANIZATION STUDIES

This paper seeks for contributions to critical organizational studies in Latin America in the literary figure of the Caliban. This is due to the need to question the foundations of this same epistemic field based on the contributions of some elements of an ethics genuinely dedicated to the problems of the region. For that, it makes an approximation between the Ethics of Liberation and the theory about Caliban developed by Fernández Retamar. The text brings to the field elements of a socially committed critique, necessary in the times in which we live, and at the same time responsible and ethical. One of the central propositions is that it is not possible to think of a critical knowledge and a science that overcomes the denial of the life of the peoples of the region without relocating who the critters are and without changing the Self-Other relationship.
