EDITORIAL

With great satisfaction, I deliver the fifth issue with 35 scientific contributions, including 30 original articles, 3 literature review articles and 2 case reports in the fields of audiology, language, public health, orofacial motricity and voice.

As for the original articles, Buss, Rossi and Buss present the first contribution on the Desempenho na avaliação do processamento auditivo de um grupo de idosos protetizados: influência de perda auditiva, idade e gênero (Performance in the auditory processing evaluaton in a group of elderly people with hearing aid: influence of hearing loss, age and gender). The second contribution is from Borges, Rocha, Couto and Mancini, on the Comparação do equilíbrio, depressão e cognição entre idosas institucionalizadas e não-institucionalizadas (Comparison of balance, depression and cognition among institutionalized and non-institutionalized elderly). Machado, Alves, Nascimento, Lucena, Ferreira, Parlato-Oliveira and Carvalho wrote the third contribution on the Investigação do reconhecimento do próprio nome em bebês de 4 a 5 meses: estudo piloto (Investigation of the recognition of their own names in 4-5 month-old babies: a pilot study). The fourth contribution is from Albuquerque, Bernardo, Silva, Nagib and Frota Biossegurança em fonoaudiologia (Biosafety in phonoaudiology) .

Taxini, Kinoshita and Guida have the fifth contribution on the Análise acústica em brinquedos ruidosos (Acoustic analysis in noisy toys). Nova proposta de ensino da psicoacústica (New teaching proposal of psychoacoustics) is the sixth contribution written by Blasca, Mantovani, Campos, Ascencio, Campos and Alvarenga. Boscatto and Machado present the seventh contribution Teste da Orelhinha no Hospital São Vicente de Paulo: Levantamento de Dados (Test of OAE in the São Vicente de Paulo Hospital: Survey Data). The subject Perfil dos usuários de AASI com vistas à amplificação, cognição e processamento auditivo (Profile of hearing aid users in regards to amplification, cognition and auditory processing) is the eighth contribution by Viacelli and Costa-Ferreira.

The study entitled Condição auditiva de frentistas (Hearing condition from the gas station attendants) is the ninth contribution from the authors Tochetto, Quevedo and Siqueira. Becker, Costa and Lessa present the tenth contribution entitled Reconhecimento de fala em escolares de 7 a 10 anos de dois distintos níveis socioeconômico-culturais (Speech Recognition in 7-10 year-old schoolchildren from two different socioeconomic and cultural levels).

The eleventh contribution Santos, Gil, Vieira, Marangoni, Andrade and Ortiz on Avaliação comportamental do processamento auditivo em indivíduos pós- traumatismo cranioencefálico: estudo piloto (Behavioral assessment of the auditory processing in individuals after traumatic brain injury : a pilot study). The twelfth contribution Mesquita and Pereira discuss the Processamento temporal em idosos: o efeito da habilidade de resolução temporal em tarefas de ordenação de séries de sons (Temporal processing in the elderly: the effect of the temporal resolution ability in tasks of ordering series of sounds). Benefício fornecido pelo uso de aparelhos de amplificação sonora individual em idosos de um programa de saúde auditiva de Porto Velho-RO (Benefit provided by the individual use of hearing aids in elderly from a hearing health program in Porto Velho - RO) is the thirteenth contribution from Rodrigues, Aurélio and Silva. The study entitled Evasão dos pacientes nos acompanhamentos nos serviços de saúde auditiva: identificação sobre o motivo e resultados pós-adaptação de AASI (Evasion of patients in the follow-ups in hearing health services: identification of the reason and results post-hearing aid fitting) is the fourteenth contribution Jokura, Melo and Bevilacqua. Michelon, Rockenbach, Floiano, Delgado and Barba presented the fifteenth study on Triagem auditiva neonatal: índice de normal/alterado com relação ao sexo, tipo de parto e tempo de vida (Neonatal hearing screening: normal/altered index in regards to gender, type of birth delivery and lifetime).

The sixteenth contribution by Albiero, Melo, Wiethan and Mota is on Média dos valores da frase em diferentes gravidades do desvio fonológico evolutivo (Average values of the phrase in different severities of phonological disorder). The study entitled Olhar pedagógico sobre a gagueira (Pedagogical view on stuttering) is the seventeenth contribution authored by Celeste, Russo and Fonseca. Lopes and Crenitte present the eighteenth contribution Estudo analítico do conhecimento do professor a respeito das dificuldades de aprendizagem (Analytical study of the teacher's knowledge about learning disabilities).

Authors Stefanini, Oliveira, Marcelino and Maximino present the nineteenth contribution on Consciência fonológica: análise de dois instrumentos de avaliação (Phonological awareness: analysis of two assessment instruments). The twenty contribution is on the Análise da produção científica internacional sobre gagueira (Analysis of international scientific production about stuttering) written by Carvalho and Friedman. The theme As variáveis intervenientes na produção do onset complexo mediante uma análise silábica (Variables involved in the production of complex onset by syllabic analyses) authored by Mezzomo, Vargas, Cuti and Lopes is the twenty-first contribution.

The twenty-second contribution is about Narratividade do professor: mediação e linguagem na sala de aula (Teacher's narrativity: mediation and language in the classroom) from the authors Chesini, Crestani and Souza. The article Prevalência de maloclusão em escolares de 5 a 12 anos de rede municipal de ensino de Araraquara (Prevalence of malocclusion in 5-12 year-old schoolchildren from municipal schools in Araraquara) from the authors Boeck, Pizzol, Navarro, Chiozzini and Foschini is the twenty-third contribution . Navarro, Assis, Souza, Filho, Azenha and Tessitore present the twenty-fourth contribution entitled Alterações de funções orais na presença de aparelhos ortodônticos fixos com recursos intraorais (Changes in oral functions in the presence of fixed orthodontic appliances with intraoral resources).

Avaliação da profundidade do palato duro: correlação entre método quantitativo e qualitativo (Evaluation of the depth of the hard palate: correlation between quantitative and qualitative method) is the twenty-fifth contribution from the authors Maria, Silva, Busanello-Stella, Bolzan and Berwig. The twenty-sixth contribution is from Mituuti, Santos, Teles and Berretin-Felix entitled Características da fonetografia em indivíduos com equilíbrio dentofacial pós-muda vocal (Features of the phonetography in individuals with dentofacial balance after voice change). Cielo, Lima, Gonçalves and Christmann present the theme the theme Relações entre os fricativos /s/ e /z/ e entre as vogais /e/ áfono e /e/ sonoro: tempos máximos de fonação (Relations between the /s/ and /z/ fricatives and between the voiceless /e/ and voiced /e/ vowels: maximum phonation time. The twenty-eighth contribution is on the Investigação da adesão ao atendimento fonoaudiológico no contexto da Atenção Básica (Investigation of the adherence to the speech therapy in the context of Primary Attention) from Paro, Vianna and Lima. Avaliação do Conforto do Protetor Auditivo Individual numa Intervenção para Prevenção de Perdas Auditivas (Evaluation of Comfort of the Individual Ear Plug in an Auditory Intervention for Hearing Loss Prevention) is the twenty-ninth contribution from the authors Sviech, Gonçalves, Morata and Marques. Perícia fonoaudiológica: conhecimento e atuação dos profissionais da fonoaudiologia de dois Estados do Brasil (Phonoaudiological expertise: knowledge and performance of professional phonoaudiologists from two states in Brazil) written by Gorski, Lopes and Silva is the thirtieth contribution.

The literature review article entitled Qualidade de vida em disfagia na doença de Parkinson: uma revisão sistematica (Quality of life in dysphagia in Parkinson's disease: A systematic review) is the thirty-first contribution authored by Carneiro, Belo, Coriolano, Asano and Lins. The thirty-second contribution is from Serey and Araya entitled Instrumentos aplicados en la evaluación de la voz en profesores: estudio bibliográfico (Instruments applied in the teachers' voice assessment: literature review). Cavalcante, Ferrite and Meira present the thirty-third contribution entitled Exposição ao ruído na indústria de transformação no Brasil (Exposure to noise in the manufacturing industry in Brazil). The thirty-fourth contribution is a case report authored by Simão, Romero, BaraldiI, Oda, Viana, Chiappetta and Pieri entitled Avaliação clínica da relação entre postura, respiração e deglutição em paciente pós- acidente vascular cerebral na fase crônica (Clinical evaluation of the relationship between posture, breathing and swallowing in post-stroke patients in the chronic phase). The thirty-fifth and final contribution is authored by Mancopes, Gonçalves, Costa, Flores, Santos and Drozdz on Relato de caso: a importância da atuação multiprofissional na laringectomia supracricóide (Case report: the need for multidisciplinary action in supracricoid laryngectomy).
