EDITORIAL

This is the last issue of Revista CEFAC - Speech, Language, Hearing Sciences and Education Journal, in 2016. Initially, we would like to thank the ABRAMO´s board of directors - Brazilian Association of Orofacial Motricity - for entrusting us with the task of head editors of our dear Journal. During the first year, concentrating on the task at hand, we reaffirmed the commitment to maintain the mission of disseminating scientific production on themes of relevance to speech therapy, audiology and related areas.

There is no doubt about the value of the volumes published during the last year for the dissemination of the researches developed in postgraduate programs of the area of Speech-Language Therapy and Audiology that compose area 21 of CAPES. In the different articles divulged, one sees the contribution of students and faculty of Master´s and Doctorate courses who use Speech, Hearing and its areas of action as research lines.

It is also important to emphasize the investment of undergraduate courses in scientific production, in all regions of Brazil, represented by the regional diversity of the articles which were sent, throughout the year, for our evaluation.

The 155 articles published throughout the year of 2016 represent the great space that CEFAC - Speech, Language, Hearing Sciences and Education Journal - provides to the researchers. The quality of the approved articles represents an advance in the dimension of our investment in this first year of publishing work, always supported by ABRAMO´s board of directors and associates.

Here we give special thanks to our group of associate editors, editorial board members and the participation of ad hoc reviewers in the process of evaluating our articles. Our editorial staff has been rethought, seeking to comply with the guidelines of the indexation bases and to obtain greater effectiveness of the time and quality of the publication decisions.

Volume 18(6) is composed of 20 articles, 16 being original ones, two review articles and two case reports. The area of Audiology presents six articles, one of them in the interrelation with the area of Language. The area of Orofacial Motricity area includes five articles, followed by the Voice area, which presents four articles. The area of Language approaches two articles and General Speech Therapy and Educational Speech Therapy present one article, each.

The different regions of the country are represented in the 16 articles, with 12 publications from the Southeast region, six articles from the South region and two articles from the Northeast region. It is with this spirit of regional diversity and that of the areas of knowledge on Speech Therapy that we wish our Journal a 2017 with new indexation challenges.

Enjoy your reading!
