PURPOSE:
reflecting about the political force of speech language and hearing sciences therapy in the contemporary time.
METHODS
: two models of scientific epistemology are introduced focusing on the speech language and hearing sciences therapy, namely: the classic scientific and the contemporary scientific acting.
CONCLUSION
: the speech language and hearing sciences therapy exercises the political autonomy of its knowledge, contextualized in the health area, arranging it, from the speech therapist formation, until effectively practice of its professionals.
