EDITORIAL

Volume 19(2) of CEFAC - Speech, Language, Hearing Science and Education Journal - presents 15 articles, that is, one case report, two review articles and 12 original ones. Scientific productions of the southeastern, southern and northeastern regions of Brazil are present, and considering the thematic area of the articles, five include Language, three articles are on Public Health, three, on Audiology, two, on Orofacial Motricity, one, on Dysphagia, and one, on Correlated Areas themes.

In the area of Language, the original articles approach phonological disorders, phonological processing, expressive vocabulary, supplementary and alternative communication, and verbal behavior.

The activities of community health agents and the offer of speech therapists along with National Health System are topics presented in the Public Health articles.

The use of International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health in the follow-up of auditory and language development and the application of speech perception tests and percentage of correct consonants in children presented with hearing impairment are the themes of Audiology.

In the articles of the Orofacial Motricity area, a WEBSITE on tongue test and a myofunctional therapy program for individuals submitted to orthognathic surgery, are described.

Speech therapy criteria for the indication of an alternative feeding mode in intensive care unit, are discussed on Dysphagia area.

The interdisciplinary practice of professions such as Speech-Language Therapy, Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy in the disorders of human communication is discussed in the original article, whose theme represents Correlated Areas.

Besides managing the CEFAC Journal, ABRAMO - Brazilian Association of Orofacial Motricity - has been also committed to divulging the Speech-Language Science, mainly in the Orofacial Motricity area, holding the yearly Brazilian Meeting on Orofacial Motricity, in its tenth edition, in the next two months, between June 1st and 3rd, in the city of Belo Horizonte, MG. Thus, Editorial II, authored by Professor Dr. Andrea Rodrigues Motta, general coordinator of the event, presents an overview of the event.

We hope to meet some of our collaborators in Minas Gerais to share the advances of Speech Therapy science, in the Orofacial Motricity area and discuss the future paths of our journal as well.
