The year of 2014 has begun with good news for the RBF and the Fruitculture as a whole.

After December 1998, when the RBF started to be published in Jaboticabal, initially it was installed in a marketing company called "Fabrica da Palavra" in the city and later moved to a room at the UNESP Campus, finally early this year, our Brazilian Magazine of Fruitculture gained its own headquarters on the UNESP Campus in Jaboticabal.

Through the support of the direction of this Campus and the board of the Brazilian Society of Fruitculture, the facilities of the Journal today are large and modern, allowing for a more efficient work of those who cooperate with the RBF.

In an old and friendly functional house in the Campus, now fully refurbished and extended, installed in three rooms, now the RBF has about an area of 90 m2.

It is needless to mention the importance of a Scientific Journal for the society in general, as a vehicle of dissemination of the most important researches developed in Brazil and also in other parts of the world, given the ever increasing number of international authors who send their articles.

It is needless also mentioning the importance of having on its Campus a Scientific Magazine as RBF, installed in an Agronomy College that has always stood out in the field of Fruitculture, whether in the region or in the country.

Finally, it is important to mention that the RBF, despite having its headquarters in Jaboticabal, gives voice to all Brazilian states, publishing scientific articles from the most distant parts of the country, as shown by surveys consistently published in our editorial, integrating Brazil through the Fruitculture.

Therefore, it is with great pleasure that we announce to everyone that militate in the Fruitculture industry, one more victory of the RBF.

On the other hand, it is important to highlight the constant need for financial support for maintaining the quality and regularity of the RBF publication. This is a critical issue and it has been debated constantly on the Editorial Board as the funds coming from funding agencies are more and more scarce each days.

It is therefore necessary to implement the decision taken by the SBF General Assembly in 2010, in which was approved the transfer of 10% of the registrations proceeds of Brazilian Congresses of Fruitculture for the RBF.

Fundamental transfers of funds by the Organization Committees of the Congress, which has greatly hampered the survival of the Journal and impeding the necessary changes to be implemented in the magazine, as the English version and the increase in number of editions per year.

Some numbers of the RBF will be detailed below in order to show the size and the magnitude of the magazine, but at the same time, indicate the need for resources to continue the process of evolution, with quality.

In 2013 the RBF had:

- 440 submitted articles;

-144 published articles;

- 292 denied articles.

Furthermore, it is important to highlight that in this early 2014 were published special issues on line with the articles of the VAnnonaceae International Congress and the II International Fruitculture Symposium-Exotic Fruits / SINFRUTI, by the way, because our great impact, was considerate like a normal edititon, totaling 40 in the first event and 31 in the second event, in other words, two extra numbers of the RBF. This demonstrates the commitment and dedication of everyone involved in the process.

Finally, we wish to renew our thanks to our advisors in their tireless work to assessing the articles, those directly responsible for the quality of the journal and, to the other colleagues of the Editorial Board and staff members of the RBF by the constant collaboration.
