Summary:
This article describes the foundations of The Federal Council for Education's Decision, dated 1983 and concerning the medical internship, and analysis the opinions of teachers and students on this policy. Official measures following the Decision are mentioned, as well as those brought up in recent meetings of Heads of medical schools. Comments are made on the possible effects of the teaching-practice model on the undergraduate course and, consequently, on the internship itself.
