Summary:
The academic performance of two medical student generations, twenty years apart from each other, was analysed. Evaluations of students in all subjects of the undergraduate course were obtained for the years of 1958, 1959, 1960 and 1978, 1979, 1980, as well as the percentage of passes and failures. Meanwhile, a questionnaire was distributed among teachers asking their opinion about the teaching quality development in this medical scholl, in terms of interest and knowledge of the students and in terms of evaluation procedures.
The analysis of the results showed that the pass percentage increased from 31.4% (1958-60) to 79.3% (1978-80) where as questionnaire answers showed that evaluation procedures became less rigorous.
We concfuded that tne evaluation procedures should be reconsidered to become more just and serious.
