Abstract:
This article introduces and discusses ABEM's (Brazilian Association of Medical Education) capacity of prescience and establishing long term perspectives, turning clear, however, its limitations through characterization of the ideological horizon as well as through the social entailment of its most active members.
A general view of the principal problems of medical education in Brazil in the recent years is being outlined on the basis of examples, by the way those problems became apparent at ABEM, by the way they were discussed (or omitted) in the institution's annual meetings.
