Music: a mathematical physical study about the sound athwart the Fourier series and the Fejér’s kernel with the use of spectral tools

The present study deals with the history of the development of musical theory from a physical and mathmatical perspective of the sound’s properties using the software Spectrum Lab. The free spectral analysis’s software is a tool that allows the view of harmonic sequences and the harmonics that compose a sonorous signal. The study proposes the use of this tool in the Physics and Music teaching to verify the formation of harmonic series produced by vibrating strings, based on the investigation of periodic functions, Fourier’s series and the harmonic formation by Fejér’s kernel.
