Electron-positron scattering

This paper focuses on studying electron-positron scattering. Using the postulates of quantum mechanics, scattering theory and Green’s functions, the shape of the S-matrix and its relation to cross sections is shown. In addition, some Feynman rules are presented that are used to find the cross section of an electron-positron scattering that results in a muon-antimuon pair and also the cross section of the same scattering process, but with the outcome of two photons. The technique is also used to write the cross sections of some Higgs boson production processes, such as the Higgs-strahlung and the WW fusion. Finally it is presented a short text on the ILC and CLIC programs and their relation to new physics.
