WOMEN FARMERS FROM RIO GRANDE DO SUL: THEIR TRAJECTORIES IN THE CONTEXT OF AGROECOLOGICAL PRODUCTION

Abstract

In order to analyze the biographical narratives of women farmers about their role as workers in the context of agroecology, an exploratory qualitative study was developed. Based on an ethnographic approach, field observations and interviews were carried out at an agroecological fair. With the collected information, a thematic analysis was performed using an inductive approach. It was evident that female farmers experience challenges associated with gender stereotypes, double working hours, the invisibility of their work, and the difficulty in occupying management positions. Faced with everyday challenges, these women implement transformative practices that generate ruptures with traditional gender roles.
