This first issue of Volume 4 of Journal of Information Systems and Technology Management has important and interesting articles which include various sectors, such as the industrial, financial and service sectors.

The articles present applied studies that can helpful for both researchers and professionals. In this issue, three articles are written by authors from Spain and Mexico. This fact shows that the journal keeps achieving its goal which is to be a means of internationally promoting scientific research.

News on the 4th CONTECSI: The 4th CONTECSI is close; it is going to take place on May 30th and 31st and on June 1st, 2007, at FEA USP, São Paulo, Brazil. This edition of CONTECSI exceeds the previous ones in numbers of papers, totaling 300, which represents 43% more papers than the 3rd CONTECSI, with authors from 14 countries and 18 Brazilian states. Two hundred and fifteen papers out of the total of 300 papers were chosen to be presented in parallel sessions and at the research forum, and, for the first time, there will be a doctoral consortium. CONTECSI is characterized as a multidisciplinary congress and scheduled to be in the international scientific-academic events agenda. We count on your presence!
