International Archives of Otorhinolaryngology Celebrates Achievement of Its First Impact Factor in JCR

It is with great satisfaction that we announce that according to the 2022 Journal Citation Reports (JCR), the International Archives of Otorhinolaryngology (IAO) has achieved its first Impact Factor: 1.1. This achievement represents a significant milestone in our journey and reinforces IAO’s remarkable contributions in the field of otolaryngology, as well as its global recognition among researchers and academics. We are excited to share this news with our community of readers, authors, and reviewers (►Fig. 1).

The Impact Factor is a metric calculated by Clarivate, which reflects the annual average of citations received by articles published in the past 2 years in journals indexed by the Web of Science11 Anker MS, von Haehling S, Papp Z, Anker SD. IAO is an international peer-reviewed journal covering the full spectrum of otolaryngology, from prevention to diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation. It acts as an essential reference for experts in the field and is also a valuable tool for students in search of the latest information.

IAO’s first Impact Factor is an indicator of its success in promoting and disseminating scientific knowledge. It represents the recognition of the scientific community regarding the quality and relevance of the articles published in the journal. The first IAO Impact Factor is undoubtedly a cause for celebration, but also an ongoing incentive to maintain the high standards of excellence and scientific rigor that made it possible.

Calculation

Journal Impact Factor™ is calculated using the following metrics:

Citations  in 2 0 22  to items published in 2 0 2 0 ( 175 ) + 2 0 21  ( 77 ) Number of citable items in 2 0 2 0   ( 1 0 5 ) + 2 0 21 ( 12 0 ) = 252 225 = 1.1
