"Glory of God, in the service of the King and the good of the Republic": the nuns'monastery of Saint Monica in Goa and the Oriental christianity in the augustinian writting of fr. Diogo de Santa Anna in the 1630's

This paper analyzes the symbolic conventions that, at the Asian spaces of Portugal kingdom, shaped organizing representations of religious writing practices under a monarchy of confessional traits. To this purpose, it explores a discussion on the construction of identity categories through the topics of nobility and blood purity.
