Interests involved in the voyage, the writing and the publishing of a travel writing. Argentina, Chile and New Zealand compared by the British commander Robert FitzRoy during the 1830's

The paper discusses how travelling, writing, and publishing are related to the social and political interests of the voyager. It discusses on how the author selects themes, and defines different ways to relate, focusing on how it is related to personal, economical and political interests. The analysis is based on how did the British Navy commander Robert FitzRoy, of HMS Beagle, described South America and Oceania on his book Narrative of the surveying voyages of HMS Beagle, written from 1836 to 1839, when the British were redesigning their Empire.
