ENERGY BALANCE AND YIELD OF THE ENERGY IN AN INTREGRATED FOREST INDUSTRY

ABSTRACT

This work determined the energy balance and yield of the energy from a wood industry. The study was carried out by examining a monthly historical series of data (january 1998/july 1999). The results indicate that the coogeneration of energy is a possible process. The major consumer of thermal and power was the sawmill. The comsumption of power by each product was greater in the veneer, the saw wood and boards, while the saw wood, veneer and boards consumed more thermal energy. The energetical consumption by product was inversely proportional to the disponibility of waste to generate energy. All these sectors were energetically self-sufficient.
