THE PROPOSITIONS OF EDUCATIONAL POLICIES WITH A GENDER PERSPECTIVE IN BRAZIL AND CHILE (1994-2016): A COMPARATIVE STUDY

ABSTRACT

This article aims to analyze the propositions of educational policies in the Plans of the National Secretariat of Policies for Women in Brazil and of the Women’s Service, in Chile, in the period 1994–2016. It seeks to identify the approaches and specificities and how these mechanisms respond to the measures of international organizations. It is a qualitative documentary study. Data analysis followed the comparative method, according to the theoretical assumptions of Badie and Hermet. Results show that both Brazil and Chile incorporated proposals for the promotion of gender equality in their plans. However, some of these propositions are similar and others are different, which translate the sociocultural context of each country.
