THE CONTINGENCIES AND OBJECTIVE CONDITIONS OF “EADIZATION” OF FACE-TO-FACE UNIVERSITY EDUCATION

ABSTRACT

This paper brings a debate on what has been called the “eadization” (neologism created from the abbreviation EaD, meaning, from the Portuguese, Distance Education) of Brazilian Higher Education. Through an essay, based on documents by the Brazilian Ministry of Education and academic productions, it is observed that the so-called flexibility, especially through the insertion of percentages of hours dedicated to distance education in face-to-face university education courses, supports a process of reconfiguration of the face-to-face modality. If, in distance education, there is legislation that conditionates its offer, flexibility leaves the organization of procedures for the case in charge of university education institutions, contributing to precariousness, disqualification, commodification, and financialization of the offer in Brazilian university education, especially in the private education sector.
