Abstract
This article seeks to relate the intellectual trajectory of Ruy Mauro Marini with his study of public administration. This relationship is delimited by the period 1955-1958, in which Marini studied at the Brazilian School of Public Administration (EBAP) of Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in public administration. Marini’s intellectual trajectory was influenced by the subjects related to social sciences he was interested in and by the contact with the school’s professors - particularly Alberto Guerreiro Ramos. This article has no intention to offer a biography and focuses on discussing a particular moment in Marini’s intellectual life that he considered opened up a new era in his life.
