EDITORIAL NOTE

Since biogeochemical cycles are a fundamental component of Earth's dynamics, subjected to several influences from natural and anthropogenic origins, a volume of the influence and possible impacts of climate changes on biogeochemical cycles is of relevant interest. Biogeochemical cycles of terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems (freshwater and marine, estuaries) under the possible effects of climatic changes are described by the authors of this volume; linkages between atmospheric, soil and water components are also described. The significance of the research findings related to future adaptation and mitigation of climatic changes is discussed.

The Brazilian Journal of Biology compliments the editor and authors of this excellent volume and thanks the collective efforts of the specialists in preparing this publication.
