ABSTRACT

From the exhibitions “Preto ao Cubo” and “Fragrante Mostra de Arte”, held in the city of Juiz de Fora (MG), Brazil, and among the artists participating in both exhibitions, the article intends to read, think and write with works by the black women artists: Zaira Tarin, Paula Duarte and Iúna. Through poetry, they provide us reflections on self-naming, implication, and creations of the world. Starting with the exhibitions to immerse ourselves in the poetics of these three women, the goal of this article is to think with these concepts structured in their artistic works.
