EFFECT OF ADJUVANTS IN ASSOCIATION WITH THIAMETHOXAM 250 WG AND METARHIZIUM ANISOPLIAE (METSCH.) SOROKIN FOR THE CONTROL OF SUGARCANE ROOT SPITTLEBUG, MAHANARVA FIMBRIOLATA (STAL, 1854) (HEMIPTERA; CERCOPIDAE)

ABSTRACT

The aim of this research was to evaluate the effects of different classes of adjuvants in association with the insecticide thiamethoxam 250 WG and entomopathogenic fungus Metarhizium anisopliae for Mahanarvafimbriolata control. The trial was carried out in a sugarcane field with the variety RB 92 8064 in Catanduva County, state of São Paulo, Brazil. Treatments were arranged in a randomized block design with 15 treatments and 4 replicates. Each experimental plot corresponded to 7 sugarcane rows 12.5 meters in length. The treatments, applied with volumes of 150 and 300 L/ha, using a tractor-mounted boom sprayer, were: control; thiamethoxam 250 WG at 0.8 kg/ha; thiamethoxam 250 WG at 0.8 kg/ha in tank mix with Silwet L-77 at 0.05% v/v; thiamethoxam 250 WG at 0.8 kg/ha added with Silwet Plus at 0.05% v/v; M.anisopliae at 2 kg/ha; M. anisopliae at 2 kg/ha plus Silwet L-77 at 0.05% v/v; M.anisopliae at 2 kg/ha added with Silwet Plus at 0.05% v/v; and M. anisopliaeat 2 kg/ha plus AgRho DEP-775 at 0.05% v/v. The evaluations were at 0, 15, 30, 60 and 90 days after application. It was verified that adjuvant AgRho DEP-775 at 0.05% v/v can be used in association with M. anisopliae2 kg/ha with TF3 nozzles and 150 L/ha. The adjuvants Silwet Plus and Silwet L-77 can be utilized in association with the systemic insecticide thiamethoxam 250 WG at 0.8 kg/ha, since an adequate dose of adjuvants is applied for adhesion to the leaves.
