Laser de Diodo no tratamento da retinopatia diabética proliferativa

RESUMO

O laser de diodo representa uma das novas opções de tratamento para a retinopatia diabética, uma das principais causas de cegueira no Brasil. Neste trabalho fotocoagulação retiniana com Laser de Diodo foi aplicada em 45 pacientes portadores de retinopatia diabética proliferativa com um seguimento médio de 11 meses com regressão da neovascularização 95.5% dos casos.

SUMMARY

Diode laser represents one of the newer options for treatment of Diabetic Retinopathy, one of the leading causes of blindness in Brazil. In this paper retinal photocoagulation was applied to 45 patients presenting proliferative diabetic retinopathy with an average follow up of 11 months. Regression of neovascularization was observed in 95.5% of the cases.
