40 eyes of 40 patients after pterygium excision received 0.04% mitomycin C eye drops four times a day for 2 weeks and corticosteroid eye drops for 25 days. There was one recurrence of pterygium in this group (2.5%). No patient revealed any significant conjunctival, corneal or scleral changes nor anterior chamber reaction.
