Reflections on clinical-political listening to black migrants in the Brazilian reality

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to discuss the process of racialization of immigrants and refugees in the Brazilian reality in the light of psychoanalytic, social-critical and decolonial theories. As an object for this reflection, we started from our clinical-political work experience in serving this population in different contexts and supported by a field diary of one of the authors. We conclude that racism and its effects should not be "feared" words in the office of listening; on the contrary, we should fight them by giving space to symbolic production.
