The Brazilian Federal Supreme Court and the normalization of barbarity

Abstract

The paper aims to explain the legal-political vocabulary that informs the decisions of the Brazilian Supreme Court in a prison issue, giving prominence to the dimensions of race, gender, class and sexuality. In particular, it seeks to show the judicial action in the reproduction of the black genocide with decisive impacts for women and how the Supreme Court acts as a chancellor of barbarism installed in the criminal justice system.
