Drug law in Brazil and Mexico: comparative analysis from a critical perspective to prohibitionism

Abstract

The text approaches the impact of prohibitionism in the criminal drug policy in comparative perspective, since the analysis of the criminal law of two Latin-American states: Brazil and Mexico. We can conclude that the Mexican state brought significant progresses, especially by the adoption of objective criteria of differentiation of the delusional figures, an undeniable progress comparing to Brazilian law that deals with the subject.
