Amici Curiae and Feminist Legal Methods: Possibilities and Perspectives in gender violence cases (Argentina)

Abstract

This paper presents an exploration of the potentialities of amici curiae briefs in feminist litigation on gender violence. For that purposes, section (1) offers a review of the central and recurrent problems that women face in Argentinean judicial institutions. Then, the second section (2) identifies the salient characteristics of the amicus curiae briefs as “feminist legal methods” and advances the possibilities they offer in the context described before, including examples of local practices with relative success.
