ABSTRACT
The text presents an overall reading of educational hegemony disputes during the 19th and 20th centuries, analyzing the circulation of ideas and the historical materializations to which they gave rise in the scenario of North-South relations. In this regard, this text is focused on the Latin American trajectory, especially in the Chilean case. The proposed path will allow to glimpse the predominant modes that the dispute for hegemony in the educational field has acquired, showing some of its limits and highlighting potential learnings that these experiences could eventually provide for those who are currently committed to educational and social transformation.
