Selection of best location for industrial installation using analytic hierarchy process (AHP)

This paper presents an analysis of the relevant factors that can assist in the choice of an ideal geographic location for a site installation of an automotive manufacturing company. The developed model was motivated by the company's needs to expand its production lines at another location due to physical space limitations at the current site, coupled with the pursuit of competitive advantages as a result of a changing location. In this context, the systematic application based on the multi-criteria analysis methodology Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) was applied and identified the best location from among the alternatives for the new facility installation, according to previously established criteria.
