How to evaluate the injustices arising from the existence of two distinct social normas for the lifes of men and women? The author argues that these injustices become more visible when the way this distinction appears in a "liberal" society is compared with the way it manifests itself in a "traditional" society. This comparison can reveal the role which an appeal to an human nature may play in the criticism of gender injustices, in opposition to the views of feminists who adhere to cultural or moral relativism.
