THE FUTURE OF SCHOOL FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF YOUNG PEOPLE IN LATIN AMERICA

ABSTRACT

This article analyzes the conceptions of the school of the future among young people in Latin America. It identifies the paradox between a technological fatalism that advances as the only path towards a totally automated school but which, from the students’ perspective, promises individualized schooling processes, capable of responding to the socioemotional needs and interests of each learner in his or her infinite particularity. This school of the future would be very efficient thanks to the technological mediation of learning processes and pedagogical relationships. The research was carried out virtually in Mexico, Costa Rica and Uruguay. It is a qualitative, collaborative and interpretative study.
