Indicators for evaluation of public policies of Environmental Education in schools: an analysis in the light of the policy cycle and the theory of enactment 1 1 Translated by David Ian Harrad. Email: davidharrad@hotmail.com

ABSTRACT

The article presents the analysis of the application process as an array of indicators for the evaluation of public policies of Environmental Education in schools. In order to do so, the study is based on the policy cycle (BALL; BOWE, 1992) and in the theory of police enactment (BALL; MAGUIRE; BRAUN, 2016). It is argued that the conceptual approach of the policy cycle and the theory of action gave meaning to the evaluation instrument constructed by and for the actors of the context of practice, as well as, helped in understanding the interrelations between the contextual dimensions of the theory of action and the dimensions that make up the Matrix of Indicators of Environmental Education constructed by several subjects of politics. The interpretation and analysis of the data generated from the application of the Matrix of Indicators in school contexts with the participation of teachers points out that the dimensions that structure it take meaning when integrated with each other and related to situated contexts. Thus, the instrument demonstrates its relevance, especially for the evaluation stage in the policy cycle.
