Extension of school journey: particular organization in different contexts: Brazil and Europe

The study investigates the argument that the full time school is the one sort that exists in all developed countries. The article presents the configuration of the school journey in six European countries - based on articles by Miguel Pereyra -which shows its evolution between the year 1992 and 2005; the numbers were upgraded through consult to EURYDICE system. The paper highlights peculiarities: in European countries, non-curricular activities are not free, neither is the meal; so they are not available to every student. Besides, they are not offered by the school teachers. The paper concludes that we don't have associative tradition as some European countries, but the weakness of our education system, our socioeconomic inequality, favors the integration of curricular and extra-curricular activities.
