The use of the school library as an integral part of the active ethodologies in the teaching and learning process: national overview

ABSTRACT

This study was based on the premise that it is possible to establish a dialogue between library, teaching and learning, considering that they are complementary parts.

Objetivo:

The objective of this article was to map scientific works that demonstrated how Brazilian libraries were integrated into the use of active methodologies in the teaching and learning process.

Methods:

The method used was bibliographical research with a qualitative approach, in the light of Content Analysis.

Results:

The results demonstrated that combining the library with active learning methodologies contributes to integrated training, guided by the student's autonomy and protagonism in the construction of their knowledge and suggest that interconnecting the library with educational practice requires, above all, a dialogue between the library, teaching staff and pedagogical team.

Conclusions:

It is expected to contribute to the construction of new meanings for the school library, which explore its full educational potential. It is concluded that the school library relates to the teaching and learning process in a tense way, but that there is a dialogue being built slowly, towards aligning its function with pedagogical proposals that aim for a more integrative training of the student.
