DISTINCTIONS AND APPROACHES BETWEEN OUTSOURCING AND UBERIZATION: concepts as the stage of disputes

This paper’s aim is to define and relate the concepts of outsourcing and uberization, interpreting the two phenomena as workforce management strategies that seek to reduce the limits of labour exploitation. The central point of the discussion is to realize that, just as it did not occur in outsourcing, neither in Uberization, there is delegation or externalization of activities, which persist under the control of companies, which continue to subordinate workers to their commands. However they are distinct phenomena that have similarities in accentuating the commodification of work. The article, aimed at theoretical conceptual discussion, was constructed considering a set of previous research by the authors on outsourcing, which were gathered and taken as a prerequisite for comparison with data from ongoing research on uberization.
